Customer Service Enquiry Officer 

The Opportunity 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a switched on, confident and motivated Customer Service Agent to develop their skills and gain invaluable experience working with a well known federal government department. The successful candidate will be an Australian Citizen who is a clear and concise communicator.
 
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Answering inbound and making outbound calls, ensuring all customer quires and questions are answered in a clear and friendly manner.
  • Recording accurate and high-quality notes on internal systems and sharing these notes between departments wherever relevant. 
  • Ensuring that all advice is given in line with organisation policy, guidelines and phone monitoring procedures
  • Participating in the training and development activities for internal staff whilst also taking responsibility for own professional development. 
  • Adapting communication style dependant on the needs of the customer to deliver a high-quality service.
  • Reviewing client information to determine the next course of action, amend client details or determine penalties.  
  • Identify, record and share information relevant to risk analysis activities and/or development of relationship management and compliance activities
What you’ll need to succeed

We are seeking team players, who can work collaboratively under general direction and be accountable for delivering results to assist, support and educate clients and internal staff. As such, you will:
  • Be an Australian Citizen who has lived in Australia for the past 5+ years
  • Have demonstrated experience in providing information, answering questions and responding to complaints and enquiries
  • Possess a strong Administration, Reception or customer service background
  • Have an ability to learn new skills and impart knowledge is also required.
  • Be an exceptional communicator, with the ability to manage, negotiate and influence external stakeholders
  • Be highly computer literate and proficient in all MS office packages 
  • Have fantastic teamwork skills as well as the ability to take accountability for own work
  • Possessing a good knowledge of taxation or superannuation would be highly regarded
 
Please note you will be required to undergo a Federal clearance (Police, Background and Security checks) for this role so a previous or current Baseline Security clearance or higher would be highly desirable.
