APS 5 Project Officer – Debt Manager

This role works with business areas across the Department to recover as much debt from customers as possible:
 
Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate repayment of debts to external stakeholders by making contact via telephone and in writing
  • Ensure polite and courteous treatment of customers
  • Advise suppliers in relation to their rights and obligations in accordance with relevant policies and protocols
  • Use the appropriate tools to assist in decision-making, research legislation and policy and record all interactions accurately
  • Deal with and record complaints and other feedback
  • Meet defined KPIs
Your background:
  • Experience in end to end debt management: Government experience ideal
  • Relevant qualifications and financial knowledge and/or experience
  • Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situation
  • Ability to synthesise and analyse information and make decisions
