Your Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a team of on-road and workshop/desktop-based Motor Vehicle Assessors
  • Delegating and managing workflow amongst the team in accordance with skills & capacity
  • Quality control & compliance, including ensuring that assessments are compliant with underwriting guidelines/claims procedures
  • Responsibility for large loss referrals & review of cases above assessor authority limits
  • Providing technical support in customer complaints
  • Ongoing training & mentoring to both new & existing employees

About You:

We are looking for a skilled negotiator with excellent communication skills and a passion for providing exceptional customer service, balanced with achieving agreed cost outcomes for the business. In addition to this, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in an insurance assessing position, preferably in a managerial/team lead role
  • Strong leadership skills and proven experience managing a team
  • Good insurance knowledge, including insurance policies, claims & assessing procedures, as well as underwriting guidelines
  • Strong understanding of the local repair market
  • Outstanding technical knowledge of automotive structure and car body parts
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, customers and repairers
  • Demonstrated analytical and reporting skills
  • Strong computer literacy, including the ability to learn & navigate advanced claims & underwriting systems
  • Automotive trade qualification essential, Cert IV in Assessing desirable
  • Current Drivers Licence
