Asset Data Collector - Civil

To assist a specialist team in implementing and conducting asset management processes. 

Possibly might suit a trainee engineer. Rate of pay negotiable based on experience of applicant.

General skills required: 
  • Ability to accurately enter data into a Excel Spreadsheet tool to collate the asset data.
  • Ability to read Civil Engineering drawings (road and drainage).
  • Ability to measure lengths and areas from plans and drawings to extract asset data.
  • Current class C Driver licence 
  • Ability to work flexible hours.

Physical requirements:
  • Ability to carry out site and field inspections including extensive walking in various terrains and locations.
  • Mobility around construction sites, buildings, bridges, stormwater drainage assets and in and out of plant and/or vehicles

Essential to the role:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in asset management and knowledge of infrastructure assets such as roads, bridges, footpath, drainage, buildings, recreation and open space assets
  • Previous experience and ability to carry out infrastructure asset inspections and condition assessments
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings to extract relevant asset information
  • Competence in verbal and written reporting of results of technical investigations mainly associated with roads,
  • drainage, building, and open space assets
  • Good computer skills in relation to data presentation using Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated experience in using technical equipment to measure or assess infrastructure assets.
  • Understanding of EEO, WHS and sustainable environment management principles in the workplace  

Desired experience:  
  • Previous experience in civil design and/or construction
  • Previous experience in data entry Previous experience with asset management systems

Asset Management

  • Review, analyse and process dedicated and constructed assets into Council’s asset system
  • Carry out asset inspections, and complete associated documentation using tablet PC’s, GPS and mobile devices.
  • Assist in preparing technical, financial and other reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical specifications for the preparation of works programs.

Successful applicant will be required for immediate start for this 3 month contract
