Business Analyst

We have a requirement for an Business Analyst for our client. 

Duration: July 2019 to 30 June 2020 with an option to extend the contract for a further period of up to 12 months.

Citizenship requirements: Australian Citizen with Baseline Clearance

Location:  Canberra

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Developing business technical and functional specifications, and defect resolution specifications.
  • Developing Risk Management Plans.
  • Providing Use Case Models and Use Case Specifications.
  • Providing a structured methodology and leading project and change management activities.
  • Providing co-design services to the sub-program and project teams and key stakeholders.
  • Organising, facilitating and co-facilitating workshops to produce co-designed solutions to meet the business need.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders in the design process to ensure the result meets business needs.
  • Cooperating with other designers, researchers, developers and business owners to define the need/problem and potential solutions.
  • Monitoring, evaluating, learning from and reporting on project, co-design and change activities.
  • Collaborating with multiple stakeholder groups with different needs, views and competing priorities.
  • Supporting the development of effective collaboration and working relationships with stakeholders and include exhibiting such qualities as integrity, trustworthiness and personal organisation.
  • Providing leadership in relation to project, co-design and change activities.
Skills Required:

  • 2+ years’ of relevant experience as a business analyst.
  • 1 year of relevant experience in co-design, project management, change management and/or business improvement.
  • Ability to analyse and document functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to gather, assimilate, synthesize and document requirement specifications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of analysis, modelling and requirements management tools.
  • Ability to actively involve stakeholders in the design process to ensure the result meets the business needs.
  • Capacity to cooperate with other designers, researchers, developers and business to define the problem and solution.
  • Experience in delivering and coordinating cultural change initiatives.
  • Experience in training staff and facilitating workshops.
  • Experience in monitoring evaluating and reporting on projects and identify lessons learnt.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to co-design solutions to gather, assimilate, synthesize and document the needs and solutions to ensure business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of change management.
  • PRINCE 2 or related certification.
  • Knowledge of ADKAR or similar change model.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and visual mapping tools (e.g. Visio)
