Cataloguing Specialist

I an working with a large, high-profile Federal Government organisation to find a Cataloguing Specialist.

It's anticipated that the successful candidate will commence before the end of January.  The initial contract is through to 30 June 2019 with further extensions possible. 

In this position, you will:
  • contribute to the ongoing development of the content model for the organisation's website through a broad range of activities such as developing controlled vocabularies and classification schemas
  • develop a channel ontology based on existing department mappings of services
  • develop and implement standards and guidelines to ensure all content in the Web Content Management System is appropriately catalogued
  • assist with the promotion of the website approach to information management to other business teams within the department
n order to have your application considered, you must have:
  • the ability to quickly understand complex processes and communicate them in simple language
  • demonstrated experience in the analysis and design of data resources and creation ofa thesaurus
  • proven cataloguing/metadata skills using schemas and protocols
  • a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • strong analytical, research and problem solving skills
  • have qualifications in Library and Information Sciences, Knowledge Management, Information Management, or equivalent professional experience
