About the role: 

This community focused organisation based in the Northern Beaches is looking for a Customer Services Officer (Waste Services), who is dedicated to reflect their values and provide premier support to the community. You will be part of a new call centre serving the public and making a difference; your advice and support will help keep the community clean!

Working within the Recycling and Waste Services Team, you will help to educate the community by managing queries and facilitating the resolution of reported issues. As such, you will use your excellent communication skills to serve the community (primarily via phone) by handling queries and complaints with compassion and understanding.


This role will see you:

  • Use your sharp attention to detail to provide accurate information to the public and perform data entry duties.
  • Be the presentable face and voice of the organisation, always professionally presenting yourself in uniform and being professional, courteous and efficient.
  • Proactively learn the local public policies and be able to understand/reconcile potential issues from differing points of view

Skills & experience: 

  • Premier customer service skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Local government experience.
