Debt Management Officer

The role:
This role is responsible for the timely collection of debts by maintaining key customer relationships and interpreting legislation, including the following:
  • Maintaining a portfolio of delinquent accounts in a debt management environment such as negotiating payments and resolving complex debt collection queries, s
  • Submitting requests for credit memos and adjustments, receipting, reconciling payments or credits and reviewing and resolving client requests and queries in a timely manner
  • Demonstrating initiative in achieving the best possible outcomes in the delivery of debt management functions for clients and ensuring that agreed deliverables are provided within set timeframes
  • Supporting the Manager, Debt Management in collaborating and building strong relationships with clients (both internal and external)
  • Undertaking other duties as required
Your background:
  • Previous similar experience in the debt management area of a business; having had a portfolio of debt that you have been responsible for
  • Experience working within a regulated environment as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Patience, tenacity and strong commercial skills
