Digital Network Manager

The Role & Opportunity
You will be working as a Digital Network and Communication Services Manager within the Information Technology Services (ITS) department of our client and will provide leadership to specialised teams providing critical digital network infrastructure, communications and collaboration solutions and services. The Digital Network and Communication Services Manager is responsible for defining the target state architecture, operations, management and services of the digital network and communications resources to meet the needs of digital and business transformation.
 
Key Deliverables:
  • Define and maintain enterprise network strategy, architecture and roadmap to meet emerging business requirements and continual improvement of the Digital Network and Communications products, services, and assets.
  • Lead design, development and enablement of future defined segmented network considering Software Defined Network (SDN), Network Function Virtualisation (NFV), 5G, WiFi6 capabilities.
  • Drive innovation, experimentation and easy of connectivity for Machine-to-Machine IoT technologies, always on devices, external entities, institutes and users groups.
  • Established management framework to leverage capabilities and improve service delivery from supplier/partner organisations.
  • Embed security practices and capabilities at the core of digital networks to proactively identify and mitigate security threats and drive synergies across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Effectively lead, manage and motivate highly specialist team responsible for administering and managing complex and sophisticated network infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain a budget expenditure plan to support ongoing infrastructure and systems currency, effectiveness and relevance to support the operations.
  • Develop and manage an operational plan to effectively manage and improve critical digital networks, communications infrastructure and services.
  • Develop and maintain a digital network services catalogue, service schedule, performance measures, associated costs and charge back model.
  • Oversee and provide recommendations on the network and communication infrastructure environment to ensure that the investments remain cost effective, efficient and of high quality.
  • Manage the technical and financial assessment of the ICT network and communications infrastructure and make recommendations on innovation, planning and implementation.
  • Provide solutions and recommendations to management and project teams comprised of internal and external groups as needed.
  • Identify and clarify customer needs with customers in order to assist them in understanding and documenting their own requirements.
  • Enhance the security and management of the network by implementing automation and operational efficiencies wherever possible (e.g. Puppet, Ansible, Cisco ACI, and SDN).
 
Essential Experience and Skills:
  • Planning, designing and delivering complex technical enterprise solutions within Infrastructure with a strong Network and Security focus.
  • Proven experience in transformation, architecture and management of digital network and communication technologies such as Cisco ASA, FTD Firewall, IOS Routing & Switching, NX-OS Routing & Switching, application layer proxy services, etc.
  • Interacting with ‘C’ level executives and be involved in the development of tactical and strategic planning across Business, Data, Application, and Technology domain.
  • Certified professional or industry equivalent, including previous experience in architecting, designing and implementing network services such as Cisco ASA, FTD/FMC, IOS Routing & Switching, NX-OS Routing & Switching, application layer proxy services.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills including report writing and authoring skills in producing technical documents, verbal and written communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills for effective communication at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, deploying communications infrastructure to meet the desired business outcomes of a geographically distributed organisation.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong negotiating, interpersonal, written communication and presentation, skills.
