HR Partner (Human Resources)

 new and exciting position has just become available with one of NSW Gov leading departments.
The HR Business Partners report to the Manager Corporate Human Resources and support the Divisions and Business Units in the effective management of human resources, providing advice in the implementation, management, evaluation and improvement of all workforce processes and plans within a specific client group.
  • Provide advice to managers and employees to ensure the implementation and maintenance of effective workforce management practices in accordance with the Departments policies and Code of Conduct.
  • Provide problem resolution services in human resources management and obtain advice and assistance from other Workforce Services staff as necessary.
  • Provide advice to the Manager Corporate Human Resources and Director Workforce & Information Services for decision-making in relation to HR matters.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of Workforce Services plans, policies and strategies that contribute to effective workforce management.
  • Provide responsive support and advice to managers on policy matters related to workforce management including recruitment, establishment, staff performance, team work, organisational structure, industrial matters and other related workforce management matters.
  • Support managers to develop and implement workforce policies, procedures and systems to support the Departments vision, values and business priorities.
  • Contribute to project planning and the effective implementation of new Workforce Services initiatives with relevant client group.
  • Advise and support managers in the development and implementation of a diverse range of workforce strategies including workforce planning, performance management, leadership management, succession planning and management of grievances, discipline and complaints. Coordinate investigations of such matters where appropriate.
  • Prepare and present monthly workforce reports as required and develop action plans with managers to address key issues arising from these reports.
  • Participate in the measurement of effectiveness of HR activities and contribute to the quality improvement of key HR functions.
  • Support the development of a values based culture within the Departments of Sydney that encourages effective teamwork, integrity, productivity and collaboration.
  • Provide the conduit for communication between Divisions and the other Workforce Services staff to ensure communication flow is efficient and accurate.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance staff to support effective management of salaries and wages budgets with relevant clients groups.
  • Arrange or undertake the delivery of education programs and staff induction in accordance with the agreed programs.
  • Together with the Manager, OHS support overarching strategies for workforce safety and wellbeing of all Department staff.
  • Comply with all Department policies & procedures and attend mandatory training.
  • Work effectively within a team to ensure achievement of priorities in given timeframes and within budget.
  • Provide professional advice and assistance to the Manager Corporate Human Resources and Director Workforce and Information Services and contribute to the priorities of the Workforce and Information Services Division and other corporate objectives as directed.
  • Comply with and keep abreast of any relevant legislation applicable to the performance of the duties of this position.
