Homelessness Strategy Manager

The Company

This community focussed government department is seeking a Homelessness Strategy Manager to lead efforts in preventing and reducing homelessness in the inner city of Sydney and other key locations throughout the Sydney District, by working closely with homelessness partners, service providers, local Councils, Health and the Police. 

What you will be doing

As the Homelessness Strategic Manager you will provide strategic advice on homelessness responses in the District that are client focused, research based and practice informed. The examination and delivery of innovative solutions for people experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless will be your primary focus in this hands on back office role.

Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

• Identifying opportunities and developing strategic advice on frameworks or responses to address homelessness across Sydney
• Complete research through review and analysis of online and paper literature and other sources to form advice
• Work with stakeholders, both internal and external, to facilitate or support planning or consultation activities
• Establish a comprehensive knowledge base on homelessness to assist in advice and decision making 
• Actively manage key stakeholder relationships based on open and regular communication to support an effective interface between strategy development, planning, service design and implementation. 

The successful candidate will:

•Have a background in formulating Policy and completing Research
•Have a Tertiary Degree in a relevant subject
•Have a hands on approach
•Be a problem solver who can think differently
•Demonstrated knowledge of the issues experienced by people experiencing primary or secondary homelessness 
•Hold a current drivers licence
