Key Account Manager/Sales Engineer

We are working with an international Engineering organisation who specialise in mechanical seals, valves, gasket products, pumps, compressors and mixers. They have been operating for over 100 years worldwide, and they are now seeking a Key Account Manager to join their Perth offices.

The company is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and customer focused Key Account Manager with first-rate skills in developing new business, building on existing clients, sales reporting and product presentations skills.  You’ll be required to work autonomously, however you’ll also have the support of a close-knit team who will welcome you into the team.  The company has just successfully appointed a new Key Account Manager, and have an identical new position, which is where you come in!

As the new Key Account Manager you will be reporting to the Sales Manager of the Western Region and will be primarily be out on the road visiting clients.  This will be mainly across Perth, with some opportunity to travel to some regional WA sites.  As such, some of your key responsibilities will include:
  • Sales of rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors and mixers to clients in the Mining, Oil and Gas sector
  • Grow and develop existing customers and secure new ones
  • Frequently meet with clients to understand requirements and promote solutions
  • Completing and submitting quotations to successfully secure contracts
  • Participate in sales forecasting and planning
We are seeking candidates with a strong external sales focus and ability to work closely with clients to achieve positive outcomes.  Specifically, you’ll have the following skills and abilities
  • Previous external sales experience selling to process oil/gas/mining industries
  • Be an effective communicator – both written and verbal
  • Well-developed sales skills and be confident presenting customers
  • Experience in rotating equipment ie pumps, compressors, mixers is desirable
  • Degree level qualification in Sales and Marketing or Engineering
On offer is a base salary of $90,000 + super, as well as a vehicle allowance, and a bonus incentive plan.
