Kubernetes Platform Engineer

Ignite has partnered with the federal government in Australia for many years: we are proud and privileged to do so. At present we are looking for a Kubernetes Platform Engineer.

Some further points and requirements about the role:

• A critical federal government role working on behalf of all Australian citizens
• A motivated Kubernetes Platform Engineer, one looking to broaden their knowledge in a variety of technologies in an environment where security matters
• The manager will enable this engineer to work to their strengths while gaining experience in modern technologies with automation, open-source applications, cloud systems and security controls
• Have responsibility for designing, automating and maintaining Kubernetes solutions that provide as-a-Service platforms to be consumed by engineering teams across the organisation
• The experience gained in this role in upstream Kubernetes will be transferable anywhere and will be working in a great team with Kubernetes and Linux specialists
• This role is an opportunity to obtain a security clearance. Candidates need to have obtained a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) clearance and an ASD Occupational Suitability Assessment (OSA) before commencing work
• Note: OSAs determine suitability to work in a high security environment and are designed to ensure the greatest possible degree of privacy and transparency
• Therefore, you must be an Australian citizen to apply for this role
• The department will consider and negotiate remote working arrangements on a case-by-case basis
• Applicants should note that there will still be a requirement for regular travel to Canberra for key team, stakeholder and organisational events
• The successful candidate will normally work 5 days per week (estimated 40-hour week)
• Initial 12 months engagement with a likely two further 12-month extensions
• Daily rate – highly competitive and negotiable
