Member and Senator Communications Officer

The Role

The Member and Senator Communications Officer (MaSCO) will assist in providing timely and accurate information on the scheme to various Members of Parliament and Ministers.  As such, you will be responsible for building the capacity of internal stakeholders with the provision of information regarding the organisation, as well as building and preparing advice and information, addressing emerging issues and recording them accurately.

As such, your duties will include:
  • Being the primary point of contact within the National Disability Insurance Scheme for Parliamentarians who are seeking information on the National Disability Insurance Scheme
  • Recording complaints, enquiries, issues and engagement with local parliamentarians and their staff
  • Contributing towards the maintenance of professional relationships with other teams
  • Preparing the timely responses to local member enquiries and representations regarding specific constituents concerns and issues
  • Assisting with complaints escalations from constituents in accordance with complaint handling processes
  • Collecting appropriate information for NDIA briefings for the Minister, Assistant Minister and NDIA Executive
  • Undertaking other tasks as required by the Director and NDIA executives

  • The ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
  • Proven experience in working within engagement
  • Experience working with parliamentarians or similar stakeholders
  • Experience in preparing government briefs
