Member and Senator Contact Officer

The Member and Senator Contact Officer will work with key line areas within their region in order to resolve constituent issues, and proactively manage relationships with Commonwealth and State/Territory local members and their offices.
You will seek ways to inform local members through in person presentations and providing written information on projects and they’re rollout. You will work with other stakeholders to ensure that engagement is focused on providing local members and their officers with the information they need and build confidence in the delivery of information.

  • Establishing and maintaining a productive and professional relationships with allocated local members, and their staff.
  • Establishing productive and professional relationships with agency leadership teams.
  • Providing local members with information on the purpose, scope and progress of projects as it relates to their community and constituents.  
  • Facilitating a timely response to local members’ enquiries and representations regarding specific constituents using appropriate regional processes for referral and resolution of the issue.
  • Recording details of complaints, enquiries, and engagement with local members and their staff, and escalating complaints from constituents in accordance with the established complaint handling processes.
  • Planning public events for local members.

  • Ability to make informed decisions.
  • Experience working with parliamentarians or ability to draw parallels with experience in similar roles highly desirable
  • Experience preparing government briefs highly desirable
  • Experience in community event planning highly desirable
