About the Role

We are currently seeking one NDT Technician for a permanent, full time role based in Emerald/Mackay.  Working with Global service provider, it is a great opportunity to advance your career and work as part of a team of industry professionals. Reporting to the Supervisor, you will be required from Monday to Friday, 9 - 10 hours per day.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducting material tests using a variety of non-destructive methodologies and technologies including thermal imaging, dye testing, and magnetic particle testing & inspection.
  • Identify material flaws or gaps that may affect performance or cause safety issues.
  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with specifications or standards and evaluate results.
  • Develop, update, and issue documentation related to the tests they have performed and any recommendations for manufacturing professionals or engineers.
  • Instruct and supervise trainees.
  • Interface daily with clients about work priorities and progress of projects.
  • Actively participate in client safety initiatives, incident investigations, etc.
  • Assist in audits under the direction of the company lead auditor.

Skills and Experience

  • Technical abilities and relevant qualifications – level 2 AINDT or equivalent (ISO 9712) qualification in Magnetic Inspection, Dye Penetrant Inspection and Ultrasonic Testing level 2
  • Previous Mine sites experience is beneficial.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Ability to work in a team and unsupervised
  • Good communication
  • Ability to work with clients to meet their goals and deadlines
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted C Class driver's licence.
