PMO Lead

The Role & Opportunity:
Our government client is currently looking for a PMO Lead who will be responsible for overseeing and driving performance of the day to day operations of the programs around governance and reporting, integrated planning and control, financial management and corporate services.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Manage team of 6 across governance and reporting, integrated planning and control, financial management and corporate services.
  • Responsible for program governance and reporting process for various programs.
  • Provide advice and facilitation of the process to undergo any required change control activities, including identifying the impacts.
  • Oversee the daily operation of governance activities, including attendance at governance bodies, reviewer of papers, actions and minutes.
  • Responsible for program Integrated planning and control for program projects and ensuring adherence to the standard ePMO tools, templates and guidelines relating to program/project management.
  • Maintain program schedule and monitor critical path, providing timely visibility of delivery risks.
  • Monitor adherence to timelines and milestone completion for the program, providing reports and analysis on the status of the program to leadership.
  • Responsible for digital program management tool, the single source of truth of program data.
  • Facilitate weekly planning, control and reporting sessions for the scrums and project teams, provide advice and direction to teams on prioritisation of activities, delivery schedules and management of issues.
  • Manage program finances on a monthly basis.
  • Manage program resourcing, recruitment, on boarding and vendor management.
 
Ideal job seeker profile:
  • 10 years professional experience in PMO, 5 of those as PMO Lead or Manager.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, organisational and writing skills.
  • Strong governance background and Integrated Planning within complex Governance agencies.
  • Proven ability to mentor and guide teams drawn from diverse backgrounds in a collaborative and transparent manner.
  • Experience in a legislated and regulatory environment.
  • Competent with IT Systems.
  • Develop and manage key strategic relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, promoting the agency’s business objectives.
  • Ability to manage service delivery performance.
  • Provide strategic advice, problem solving and issues management for internal and external stakeholders in relation to complex and potentially controversial matters.
  • Analytical skills to draw on research, evidence and performance reports to influence improved service delivery.
  • Ability to respond to and prioritise competing and often urgent requests in a calm and efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy.
  • Provide strategic direction to work area, including developing strategies and priorities and monitor work flow and performance.
