An exciting job exists for an experienced Project Manager with expierence in Building Facades&Roofs.

12 Month Contract with a strong potential to be extended.

Your Objectives:

In your role as a Project Manager – Capital Works, your key responsibilities will include:
 
Being a Project Manager for building façade and roof upgrades to buildings – develop business case to construction.
Manage the day to day project delivery to meet time, cost, quality, safety and environmental expectations.
Collaborate with project team and stakeholders using effective interpersonal and communication skills;
Practice the Clients project management disciplines and processes including utilising the Capital Projects Knowledge Base, governance, procurement, record keeping and probity procedures.
Promote a culture where Work Health and Safety responsibilities receive the upmost importance and comply with all relevant acts and regulations.
Undertake other tasks as required by the Position Supervisor or Director.
 
Your Accountabilities:

The position will be required to manage capital works projects that may be minor or complex in nature or support larger capital works and/or property projects. Depending on the size and complexity of projects allocated the position may have multiple projects to manage concurrently.
The position will work across all project phases including initiation, design, documentation, tender and procurement, construction commissioning and finalization.
Manager the day to day implementation of multiple and complex capital works projects including:
The assessment of risks and support in the preparation of mitigation plans
The preparation of Project Plans
The preparation of tender documentation
The administering of contracts, including evaluation of progress claims, variation claims, extension of time claims, and performance monitoring;
The investigation of compliance conditions with all relevant authorities to avoid any delays to projects;
Inspect works in the field to ensure that the desired intentions and quality are being achieved.
Liaise with the consultants and contractors
Prepare and issue timely documentation to enable proactive project reviews, including preparation of regular cost reports, project status updates, construction photographs and compliance reporting;
Apply and uphold to a high level the project management and governance process;
Positively contribute to a collaborative work environment offering ideas to continuously improve.
Deliver a high standard of customer service through consultation and sharing of information with all levels of staff across all divisions of Council.
 
 
To be successfull in the role you will need :

Qualifications and Experience Required


Essential:

Tertiary qualifications in either Civil Engineering or Project Management or other related discipline.
Extensive knowledge of civil construction industry principles and practices
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Substantial experience in successfully managing contracts and contractors
Highly developed oral and written communication skills to enable effective communication with a wide variety of people from all levels and background including staff, contractors and the public.
Well-developed negotiation, facilitation and influencing skills
Knowledge of best practice contracting and tendering practices

Desirable:

Experience and understanding of Local Government environment and processes.
Project Management Certification from an accredited Professional Institute

A Project Manager with building, architectural or structural background would be highly desirable.
