Project Support Officer - APS4

About the company
Our client is a relatively new and rapidly expanding organisation assisting people with disabilities. Their aim is to build the capacity of people with disabilities, their families and carers to achieve their goals as well as the capacity of organisations, communities and services to be more inclusive and accessible. This branch is responsible for commissioning and managing four programs to ensure they achieve demonstrable outcomes.

About the role
 As the Project Support Officer you will be providing support to the team across a range of duties including: 
  • Supporting the development of best practice ensuring resources are easily accessible
  • Active promotion of the department through regular communication with key stakeholders
  • Identification of promotional opportunities
  • Creating strong sustainable relationships with external delivery partners including federal, state and local government departments
  • Identification and contribution to the resolution of issues and problems as they arise
  • Commitment to growing a disability confident department while fostering a culture of learning, diversity and inclusion
To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills and personal attributes:
  • Demonstrated previous experience in a project support role or similar preferably in a government environment
  • Qualifications in project management will be highly regarded
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • The ability to communicate with influence and negotiate where necessary
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong proven ability to develop solid ongoing effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders  
  • A positive and resilient outlook
  • You must be adaptable to constantly changing priorities and have a sense of urgency and possess strong organisation/time management skills
  • Have a positive contemporary attitude to people with disability and an understanding of its impact on individuals
