Senior Manager - Finance Business Partnering

Ignite is seeking a Senior Manager - Finance Business Partnering to support and assist our client - a major National Government Department and Scheme which partners in the Task-Force delivery of high performing, high integrity, trusted national project dealings.

The Senior Manager – Finance Business Partnering will be guided by strategy, policies, priorities and operational practices. It has a considerable degree of independence to exercise judgement and make decisions within their area of accountability. It is a Team Leadership position and as such will be required to exercise people management skills, knowledge to lead a high performing, and cohesive team. It will develop and implement work plans, set performance indicators, and review individual performance, focusing on identifying opportunities for building team capability and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing a small team to deliver coordinated finance-related output on behalf of designated business areas;
  • Providing finance partner functions to the strategic and functional leadership of the client's, Divisions and Branches, providing financial management: budget reporting and finance expertise and support to achieve consistent and compliant outcomes;
  • Identifying efficient and best practice, implementing and advising on finance policy, processes, templates, reporting and compliance monitoring relevant to their work area;
  • Promoting compliance with legislation and policy requirements including Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act) and PGPA rules and the Commonwealth Resources Management Framework;
  • Providing expert finance advice required for budget management, business planning, financial forecasting and business performance analysis;
  • Financial management reporting on behalf of designated business areas and the identification of variances to the client's Internal Budget;
  • Supporting the 4-year planning process in forecasting and analysis of business performance and supporting strategic considerations.
Must have:

  • CA or CPA qualified;
  • 5+ years post-qualification experience;
  • Understanding and knowledge of disability and its impact on individuals;
  • Experience with supporting people with a disability to maximise participation in community;
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Has experience in building relationships both with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Able to engage in negotiation if dealing with external providers;
  • Ability to respond to and prioritise competing and often urgent requests in a calm and efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy;
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information;
  • Ability to synthesise and analyse information and make decisions.
