Sourcing & Procurement

This is an important leadership role, defining the statement of requirements and leading sourcing projects from planning to execution of agreement. The role requires extensive experience in procurement and sourcing methodologies, and application of them within Commonwealth legislative environments.
You will possess a continuous improvement mindset, a strong leadership and accountability attitude, the ability to meet challenging deadlines and a drive to improve the work and culture of your team. The team is responsible for the initiation, planning and strategy, market approach, evaluation, negotiation and contract formation and execution activities including all approval steps required by the organisation.
  • Delivering sourcing projects and mentoring other team members
  • Support ongoing reviews and improvements to sourcing processes and systems
  • Working with internal stakeholders, including subject matter experts, contract management and partner performance resources on an ongoing basis
  • Contributing to achieving maximum value during the sourcing process through proactively improving and developing better statements of requirements
  • Ensuring compliance to and understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Reviewing contract terms and conditions to align with legislative changes and policy updates
  • Assisting contract management resources with contract variations and/or extensions.
  • Strong and adaptable communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to engage in negotiation if dealing with external providers
  • Ability to work within and across teams and adapt quickly to a changing environment
  • Ability to respond to and prioritise competing and often urgent requests in a calm and efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to synthesise and analyse information and make decisions
  • Ability to provide a mentor role within the team.
  • 3 to 5 years leadership experience in a procurement, strategic sourcing or contract management role
  • Relevant business, accounting, legal or commerce degree qualification.
