Technical Internal Sales


The role of an Internal Technical Sales representative is to service the needs of existing clients, respond to new sales inquiries and to support the activities of the Account Management team.

Seeking experience sales people who have worked on budgets of 2/3 million in the past.

  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails
  • Close sales and achieve budget
  • Receive, manage or escalate customer complaints related to the sale of products/services sold as required
  • Perform effective phone &online demos to prospects
  • Identify sales leads through inbound leads and outbound cold calling and recommend to the relevant Account Managers as required
  • Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, soliciting new accounts, building rapport, and providing technical information and explanations to generate sales.
  • Maintain/expand client database of prospects within defined territory
  • Team with channel partners to build pipeline
  • Update job knowledge by studying new product descriptions; participating in educational opportunities and any other updates communicated by the business. 
  • Accomplish department and organisation goals by accepting ownership for new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.


  • Proven inside sales experience - preferably in the Civil Engineering /Construction sector 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong listening and presentation skills
  • Track record of over-achieving budget
  • Strong phone presence and experience making 25 calls per day
  • Proficient with web presentation tools
  • Experience working with CRM
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively
  • Advanced skills in handling CRM software and other applications such as Power Point, MS Word, Outlook and Ms Excel
  • Creative thinker and should possess ability to resolve critical problems
  • Ability to analyse the market and target potential clients

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with high level of confidence
  • Sound product/service knowledge after 3 months
  • Attention to detail
  • Target oriented and a team player
  • Flexible and ability to adapt to change
  • Exceptional personal standards of honesty, integrity and professionalism.
  • Understanding of the expectations of the company’s vision, mission, and values matched with an ability to contribute to a corporate culture in alignment with the same.
  • Understanding of the standards and disciplines of the group and its businesses.
Performance Measurement 
  • Internal Sales team will have their own budget
  • They will only sell on the phone and Email 
  • If justified, occasional visits to be by Field Engineer 
KPI’s will include:
  • Sales v budget
  • Calls & Emails per day
  • Quote follow up and conversion (for all customers, not just Internal Sales customers)
  • Outbound campaign success (for all customers, not just Internal Sales customers)
