Due to targeted growth and change within the Ignite business structure, we are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to aid with support of the Finance team.

Ignite, is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX: CND) and is a company limited by shares, incorporated and domiciled in Australia.

The Company is organised around four labour related operating segments across two geographic regions. In Australia and New Zealand, these segments the provision of permanent and contingent recruitment and payroll services (“Specialist Recruitment”); on demand human resources (“On Demand”); and outsourced recruitment and human resource consulting services (“People Services”); while in China it is Specialist Recruitment.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Financial Controller this role has responsibility for managing all monthly financial accounting and external compliance obligations, including delivering the half-year and full year statutory financial report, and annual compliance reporting for both Australia and New Zealand. You will also be responsible for mentoring the assistant accountant who supports this position.

This is a broad role that requires a pro-active, hands on Financial Accountant. The business is experiencing ongoing change providing the opportunity to be involved in ad-hoc projects and contribute to constant process improvements. 
Financial Reporting

Your duties will include:

  • Review bank reconciliations
  • Process and review monthly journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Management of Fixed asset register (additions, disposals & depreciation) and leases
  • Maintain foreign currency exchange rate table, managing P&L revaluation and balance sheet retranslation
  • Prepare the monthly group consolidation and intercompany reconciliation
  • Prepare and review monthly general ledger reconciliations
  • Maintain balance sheet and deliver monthly group balance sheet statements
  • Prepare of annual and half year statutory accounts and audit for an ASX listed entity
  • Responsible for preparing the monthly board paper with financial commentary for review
  • Other ad hoc requirements from management
  • Prepare and review all tax compliance for Australia and New Zealand (BAS, Payroll tax, FBT, PAYG) ensuring they are submitted in an accurate and timely manner
  • Preparation of annual income tax for review by external advisors
  • Manage reporting and compliance obligations for New Zealand entities
Treasury Management
  • Monitor and manage daily working capital and cashflows
  • Prepare monthly working capital and cash flow forecasts
  • Manage the debtor financing facility
People & Leadership
  • Provide mentoring support and training to the assistant accountant
  • Coordinate with shared services and front office management and staff
  • Act as a finance business partner to all Company staff
  • Develop and maintain financial statements using accounting and budgeting platforms and software
  • Leverage technology to establish databases of pertinent information for use in analysing future plans, modelling and forecasts
  • You must be an Australian Permanent Resident or Australian citizen to be considered for this role.
 The ideal candidate will have:
Qualifications & experience
  • 2+ year’s post qualification (CA/CPA) with commercial experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and TM1 preferable
  • Staff management experience
  • Able to engage and demonstrate effective communication across all levels of the Company pertaining to financial matters
  • ASX listed company statutory reporting experience ideal
