10 Data Verification Officers Wanted

The Opportunity

As a Data Verification Officer you will work in the Sydney office using programs to correct data on application forms scanned into the workflow system.  You will be required to meet daily targets and as such must have a keen eye for detail and be used to working in a high volume environment.

Primary Duties will include
  • Verification of data in the system.
  • Scanning applications and photographs into the Workflow system
  • Cross checking data from the applications and documents with the information in the system for accuracy and making corrections as required.
  • Printing, quality assurance and dispatch of documents.
  • General administrative processing activities in accordance with department regulations and guidelines.
  • Ad hoc administration tasks
Successful applicants will have:
  • Strong data entry skills including:
    1. Data entry skills and speed of 9000 characters per hour
    2. Data correction skills and speed of 150 characters per minute (Please note testing that verifies this will be required and can be done with Ignite)
  • Australian Citizenship
  • Good English speaking, spelling and writing skills
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, trustworthiness and personal attributes and ethics consistent with the spirit of Australian Public Service values and codes of conduct
  • Ability to cope with high volume data entry which combines speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to process, analyse and make decisions about computer based information promptly and accurately.
  • Ability to remain motivated and to work in a high volume data entry environment.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment
  • Ability/ flexibility to work extra hours as determined by operational needs.
  • Intermediate level computer skills including MS office skills
  • Ability to prioritise, be flexible and reliable and adapt readily to different tasks and demand.
  • Ability to work independently and remain motivated within a repetitive role
Highly Desirable
  • Experience with Optical Character Recognition (OPR) programs such as Verify It is an advantage
  • Previous federal government experience advantageous
