APS5 - Governance Officer - Price Controls

We are working with a Federal Government agency that is looking for an APS5 Engagement & Governance Officer to support their Pricing Controls team. Based in Geelong, this 12 month contract opportunity would suit an adaptable individual with strong analytical and communication skills.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Liaising with client & customer-facing teams to develop and maintain stock responses
  • Developing responses for Provider and Market Engagement to emerging issues
  • Monitoring potentially challenging areas and helping to develop pricing policy responses
  • Engaging with other business units to develop pricing policy.
  • Support policy development process 
  • Developing channels of communication for policy feedback, general enquiries, assistance requests, complaints, etc
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders, including timely and accurate communications
  • Provide support to engagement / communications lead
  • Engage with stakeholders to minimise adverse impacts on policy development
  • Liaise with communications to facilitate communications activities
  • Respond to enquiries that are directed through the Pricing inbox
  • Manage the divisional mailbox for market settings enquiries and coordinate responses where appropriate.
  • Draft executive and ministerial briefings and correspondence.
  • Develop and review materials and resources including accessible documents.
  • Maintain, monitor and coordinate actions for the Price Controls Team’s issues register.
Key Skills & Experience
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build & maintain relationships
  • Effective negotiation skills, including the ability to develop a clear understanding of differing viewpoints and issues, as well as presenting persuasive counter-arguments.
  • Understanding of market regulation principles and best practice
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Tertiary qualifications in economics or finance highly desirable
  • Previous experience in communications, policy analysis, research or a related field an advantage
This is a twelve month contract role based in Geelong, paid at an hourly rate of $45.74 + super.
