APS5 Communications Officer

Ignite is seeking a Communications Officer to support and assist our client - a major National Government Department and Scheme which partners in the Task-Force delivery of high performing, high integrity, trusted national project dealings.

The Communications Officer (APS5) will be responsible for supporting the National Partner Performance Team to assist state based Partner Performance teams by coordinating communications with clients Partners, including dissemination of communications, maintaining communications information and creating and implementing communications plans, as well as assisting with arranging meetings and

Key responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Partners in the Community, the Partner Performance Branch and other internal
  • stakeholders in business units across the Agency.
  • Develop effective working relationships to drive performance and quality outcomes from PITC.
  • Disseminate timely and accurate information to Partners in the Community
  • Assist in the organisation and delivery of Partner Forums and regular events
  • Build and maintain accurate contact lists and organisational charts and manage distribution lists.
  • Create and implement detailed communications plans for ongoing communication rhythm, events, forums and announcements.
  • Support the Assistant Director in the preparation of high quality and timely correspondence, briefs and reports as requested.
  • Support state based Partner Performance teams to deliver the outcomes of the Partners in the Community program.
Must have:

  • Understanding and knowledge of disability and its impact on individuals.
  • Experience with supporting people with a disability to maximise participation in community.
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Has experience in building relationships both with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to engage in negotiation if dealing with external providers.
  • Ability to respond to and prioritise competing and often urgent requests in a calm and efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to synthesise and analyse information and make decisions.
