APS6/EL1 Security Risk Assessment Officer

We are seeking an APS6/EL1 Security Risk Assessment Officer to work within a large, prestigious federal department who works to safeguard Australia’s international interests and security. In this role you will analyse, report and investigate security-related matters with a focus on early intervention.
 
The contract is initially for 12 months with 2 possible 12-month extensions
 
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Identifying threats to the departments security by combining and analysing multiple sets of data
  • Producing written assessments of security risks and recommendations to mitigate them
  • Liaising with other parts of DFAT and external agencies to draw on expertise and access to relevant data
  • Interviewing staff to gather information and inform assessments of security risks
 
To be successful in this position you should possess the following:
  • Excellent data extraction and analysis, investigations, communication, team work and organisational skills
  • Experience in conducting civil and criminal investigation in a Commonwealth government context and a practical understanding of the Australian Government Investigations Standards
  • NV1 clearance minimum
