APS6 - Senior Learning & Development Officer

We are working with a dynamic and rapidly growing federal government organisation that is looking for a Senior Learning & Development Officer to join their team on a twelve month contract assignment. This is an APS6 role, which has the flexibility to be based out of either Geelong or Melbourne.

As a Senior L&D Officer, you will be responsible for identifying and designing learning programs that support performance & behavioural change, business needs, as well as the organisation's values & long-term vision. This position will play a lead role in the strategic consultation & analysis, design, development & implementation of a range of learning solutions and programs that will help effectively train & prepare staff across the organisation. In addition to this, your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategically consulting with a wide range of stakeholders and supporting the development of  training content, on the job components and elements that support best practice solutions
  • Providing recommendations and developing solutions covering a wide area of capability design and development activities, including: training needs analyses
  • vendor relationship management, vocational learning, performance uplift & behavioural change.
  • Project managing the development and ongoing maintenance of a portfolio of learning solutions and content
  • Providing a high level of instructional design capability in the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning solutions
  • Collaborating with and building productive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Undertaking procurement and co-ordination of training programs 
  • Identifying, co-ordinating and managing training content and delivery by external providers as required 

About You
  • Proven experience in a similar position, ideally within the government or community sector
  • Strong coaching & mentoring skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build excellent relationships with a range of internal & external stakeholders
  • Tech-savvy, including strong systems and analytical skills
  • Ability to collaborate with & contribute strategically across teams, and to adapt and respond in a changing environment
  • Cert IV in Training & Assessment or Tertiary qualifications in Education, Human Resources or a related field
Please note this is a twelve month contract assignment, although there may be the opportunity to extend. The role can be based in either Geelong or Melbourne CBD and the hourly rate is $51.50 p/hr + super (APS6).
