APS6 Executive Assistant

Ignite is working with a government department client to engage an Executive Assistant to support the Executive Director Partnerships and Engagement through the provision of administrative functions and reports directly to the Executive Director.

It is a 12-month, non – ongoing ( part time 22.5 hours) contract.

Key responsibilities:
  • Management of the diary for the Executive Director, including prioritising, triaging and responding to urgent requests.
  • Responding to phone and email enquiries.
  • Liaising with senior level executives, and their offices across government and the institutional sector to arrange meetings, collate agendas and triage correspondence.
  • Manage travel and associated requirements.

The ideal candidate will:
  • Have a level of cultural capability to undertake respectful interest and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, policy and peoples.
  • Possess an eye for detail and be highly organised, with a proactive approach to managing their own workload and that of the SES officer they support.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and circumstances.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Teams.

  • Must be an Australian Citizen
Desirable
  • Prior experience in the provision of administrative support to SES officers would be ideal.
