APS6 Secretariat Officer

Our client is seeking an experienced APS6 Secretariat Officer to deliver professional corporate secretariat and administrative support to the Agency Board and Board advisory committees. The role also collaborates across the senior executive team to support the delivery of program outcomes through efficient and effective governance support.
The client is seeking someone who is resilient, diligent with a quality focus and attention to detail with an understanding of the importance of good governance in achieving government outcomes is desired.

Your duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Taking ownership of a portfolio of high-level Agency Board, Advisory Committee or other governance forums, with responsibility for coordination of all meeting business and logistics
  • Developing and implementing secretariat and governance frameworks to support effective decision making by Board members
  • Coordinate, contribute to and quality check briefings to the Board, Committee members and Senior Executives
  • Cultivating strategic, high-level relationships with key stakeholders
  • Coordination of logistic and operational matters relating to Board and Advisory Committee business, including scheduling of meetings, coordination reporting, member engagement and remuneration arrangements, travel, technology, finance and event planning
  • Handling a large volume of complex and sensitive information, with a demonstrated capacity for discretion and awareness of security requirements
  • Demonstrating professionalism and resilience during periods of high pressure and uncertainty including provision of support to the team and colleagues
To be considered, you must possess the following skills and experience:
  • Experience working within Government at the APS6 level
  • Experience in Secretariat, Parliamentary Coordination and/or Portfolio Coordination
  • Ability to work under pressure and to competing timeframes and demand
  • Commitment to quality and strong attention to detail in all aspects of work
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interact, engage and maintain relationships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A minimum Baseline clearance is highly regarded.

Please note this role requires occasional travel interstate to facilitate meetings in the Sydney and Brisbane offices is required several times a year.
