Account Sales Manager - Mid Market

A leading telecommunications company is seeking an experienced Account Manager to protect and grow their market share within the mid-market sector.

New Developments Sales core purpose is to grow and maintain the New Developments market share with business and enterprise customers, securing a pipeline of revenue and providing outstanding customer experience. The team enables effective network deployment through the creation of commercial partnerships with external customers across Australia. This is achieved through acquisition and management of commercial contracts across the New Developments property market.
The role of Account Manager Sales – Mid Market is within the Business Enterprise & Government team, which is part of the Business Sales & Marketing (BSM) function.

The key responsibilities for the role are:
  • Establish effective partnerships with the construction industry including developers, government and industry organisations
  • Achieve targets in relation to contracted premises, customer satisfaction and industry engagement
  • Secure the pipeline through a national portfolio of development opportunities
  • Provide a strong customer management focus by maintaining regular communication with customer contacts and meet the needs of customers through a tailored solution & service delivery approach
  • Collaborate with internal teams; Planning, Relationship Management, Business Development Managers, Marketing leads and Service and Delivery areas to deliver on customer expectations
  • Maintain regular communication with a broad range of customer contacts within each business division and at all levels of the customer’s organisation
  • Implementing government policy specifically relevant to the deployment of the network.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Tertiary (Legal, Commercial or Technical) or equivalent discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to apply highly developed influencing and negotiation skills to lead matrixed teams in the delivery of technology-related business outcomes that generate value to the client and contribute to the success of the business
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Account Manager applying a broad understanding of the commercial telecommunications/IT infrastructure or development industry and the marketplace to identify new business or business improvement opportunities and deliver commercial solutions in a regulated environment
  • Highly developed business skills and telecommunications industry knowledge
  • At least three years’ experience in complex stakeholder management and a demonstrated understanding of the technical infrastructure - design, build and operate
Practical/Specialist/Technical Skills
  • Proven track record in managing complex projects to tight timeframes
  • Excellent organisation skills to collaboratively work with cross functional teams
  • Ability to proactively generate sales pipeline opportunities in an assigned territory
  • Working knowledge of project management requirements and processes
  • Demonstrate an understanding of/experience in managing complex sales lifecycle stages and requirements.
