Business Analyst/User Experience

Ignite are seeking to engage a Senior Business Analyst to support our Federal Government Client.

The Senior Business Analyst will work in a team of business analysts, with a focus on analysing the business from both user and business outcomes perspectives for the Program. This work is critical to the overall success of the Program and will support and influence key outcomes. The Senior Business Analyst reports to the User Requirements Stream Lead and will be required to help guide and mentor a team of Business Analysts, fostering an innovative, enjoyable and productive culture. The Senior Business Analyst will be expected to develop a firm understanding of the holistic business current state and desired outcomes, working with business Subject Matter Experts for domain expertise.

Your responsibilities will include; 

  • Plan and document user interviews, eliciting both high level and detailed business problems and analysing root causes.
  • Identify business and user needs.
  • Analyse and improve user experience, taking the viewpoint of the user.
  • Design and facilitate workshops and interviews that include a variety of internal and external stakeholders across all levels.
  • Managing stakeholder groups to develop a partnership with the business and foster a productive working environment.
  • Transform defined business needs into outcomes and problem statements, for large scale Government applications and complex systems.
  • Communicate using professional judgement, evaluating risks and in the context of a complex and changing environment.
  • Perform additional duties or assume responsibility of functions as directed by the Management from time to time.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Assist in mentoring and upskilling less experienced team members.

To be considered for this role, the successful candidate will have;

  • Proven ability to plan, run and document user interviews, eliciting both high level and detailed business problems and analysing root causes.
  • Proven ability to translate business and user needs, using various methods (including Jobs To Be Done methodology), to describe outcomes instead of technical and functional requirements.
  • Experience taking the viewpoint of the user then analysing and improving user experience.
  • Proven ability to work as of a collaborative and highly motivated team
