Construction Manager

Our client is a successful well-established construction business that has been operating for over 30 years here in Sydney now require a Construction Manager ideally with Electrical Substation experience.
Projects include Construction of Electrical substations, Aquatic centres, local Government Authority (Council) buildings, Sporting infrastructure, Warehouses, Residential new builds, Additions and Refusbishments.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Holding a current Supervisors Certificate or Builders licence.
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Building and Construction or equivalent
  • Construction management for multiple projects running at the same time, including organising and delegating tasks to other departments and multiple trades.
  • Liaising and carrying out Client requests.
  • Being aware and sometimes administering WH&S, Environmental and QA documentation.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Outlook and Sage 300 Construction (also known as Sage Timberline Office).
  • Reading and interpreting plans.
  • Attending formal meetings with Company Management to discuss various issues and items. 
Onsite Duties:
  • Supervising a range of different trades such as demolition, carpentry, tiling, cleaning, painting, plastering etc with a possibility of some hands-on work.
  • Attending site and tender meetings when required, Liaising with clients and or client representatives.
  • Ordering and organising materials, equipment, suppliers and sub-contractors, picking up and or delivery materials and equipment (when required)
  • On site measuring up and sketching and continually checking works after completion for defects.
  • Visiting sites to carry out inspections for tendering and meeting potential clients. 
Office duties:
  • Interaction with Contract Administration department including but not limited to assisting with administering contracts, certification, warranties and products information.
  • Preparation and actioning of invoices, progress claims, variations, Extension times and RFI’s.
  • Interaction with Estimating department and assisting with Tender/project handover meetings/discussions.
  • Formal Tender submissions.
