About the Role:
- Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple projects running concurrently
- Drive and facilitate good stakeholder management
- Client relationship management throughout the construction phase, ensuring regular contact and reporting is provided to the client
- Holding weekly PCG meetings, issuing meeting agenda weekly project minutes
- Ensuring all sites meet HSEQ standards and working closely with our HSEQ Manager to ensure safety is managed and maintained regularly across all projects
- Manage project budget from handover to completion, including forecasted costs to complete, and ensuring the project meets and exceeds assigned project profit targets
- Drive and manage project programme, including regular updates and issuing to all stakeholders
- Managing the project team including site supervisor, site foreman, carpenter, and labourer and subcontractors
- Working closely with the Site Supervisors to ensure all projects are following our integrated management systems, protocols, and procedures daily
- Regularly sourcing, arranging, and managing sub-contractors as required
- Work closely with, and delegating tasks to the contracts administrator as required
- Inspecting works as they are completed to ensure they comply and meet the BCA and Australian Standards
- Read, understand, and interpret client/project contracts and determining contractual obligations and associated risks
- Workmanship and quality control throughout the project lifecycle
- Manage project defects, including identifying defects and arranging rectification in a timely manner
- Project cost control and management including invoicing and sub-contractor payments working closely with the accounts department
- Working with and managing third party services consultants, including private certifiers, council, services engineers, structural engineers, and the like
- Project trouble- shooting and problem-solving management, working closely with your assigned team to maximise productivity and minimise risk
- Regularly reading and interpreting architectural, engineering, structural and services plans
- Variation management and implementation
- Managing and overseeing project close out phase
- Preparing and issuing reports to the construction manager and senior management team
- Ordering and organising or materials, equipment, suppliers, and sub-contractors
- Daily project risk management review and implementation
- Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering and/or Building Construction Management or similar
- Proven knowledge of construction processes and solid experience in a similar role (minimum of 5 - 8 years)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Commercial and Civil Construction experience required
- Construction project financial acumen
- Understanding and working with Estimating, Contracts Administration, HSEQ and Accounting teams within an organisation
- Proficient in MS Office (emphasis on Excel and Word)
- Experience with MS Project
- Ability to interpret drawings
- Ability to build rapport and manage relationships with multiple parties (i.e., project team, site team, client, subcontractors, and other stakeholders)
- Ability to work to a budget
- Team player
