Data Analyst

Our client is seeking a Data Analyst to work between the department’s data function and ICT application function to ensure critical data issues are investigated, triaged and resolved.

You will not only have strong data and enterprise data warehouse (EDW) skills but be required to learn the detailed business rules of the CRM application in order to thorough investigations of issues and differentiate correctly between data and application issues.

Your duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Investigate data and EDW issues raised by business areas including the Agency’s Actuarial and data branch.
  • Differentiate incidents raised between data issues and application issues
  • Assist with the investigation of issues with data delivery and ETL processes as required
  • Correctly triage incidents to the respective level 3 technical data, EDW or application teams, and work directly with these teams to obtain a prompt resolution.
  • Understand the business impacts of data issues raised
  • Assist the Agency’s data branch with defining requirements and raising change requests for minor enhancements and small work requests
  • Support the ICT CRM application support team with application related issues when required – applying business rule knowledge to support the investigation and resolution of incidents raised by staff and customers.
To be considered you must possess the following skills and experience:
  • Experience in wrangling and investigating data, using languages like SQL and SAS
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including strong root-cause analysis skills
  • Experience using enterprise data warehouses, preferably using Teradata technologies
  • Experience in data reporting platforms, preferably using SAS VA
  • Experience with SAP platform
  • Strong communicator, including ability to communicate with a non-technical audience
  • Ability to work autonomously and drive an issue through to resolution
  • Understanding of incident management
