Job Description:
A SouthWestern Sydney LGA Shire Council is seeking a Development Assessment Planner to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing development applications and providing advice to stakeholders in relation to the development assessment process.
Responsibilities:
- Assess development applications in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines.
- Provide advice to stakeholders on the development assessment process and requirements.
- Coordinate the assessment of development applications with other council departments and external agencies.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for presentation to council and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines.
- Undertake site inspections and liaise with applicants, architects, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to development assessment.
- Provide input into the development of planning policies, strategies, and guidelines.
- Degree in Urban Planning, Town Planning, or a related field.
- A minimum of two years of experience in development assessment or a related field.
- Knowledge of relevant planning legislation, policies, and guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with planning software and technology.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
