Our client is a relatively new and rapidly expanding organisation assisting people with disabilities to access mainstream and community services as well as maintaining informal support via family and friends.
About the role
As an Economist you will be assigned to the Pricing Controls Team who are responsible for a range of market stewardship activities including setting and monitoring of price controls. This ensures value for the organisation’s participants. You will assist in the provision of economic regulation and ensure market settings are appropriately aligned with the calibre and maturity of providers and consumers in the developing market for disability goods and services.
Responsibilities include:
  • Providing detailed analysis and advice on complex market issues
  • Conduct research to support evidence based decision making on complex market intervention issues
  • Development of briefing material and reports for senior executives and board members
  • Assist in the development of public & internal consultation on sensitive issues related to market stewardship
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to collect information and coordinate action
  • Review and analyse economic data to develop pricing policies, with an end goal of deregulation
  • Conduct workshops and provide advice to stakeholders
To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills and personal attributes:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Economics
  • Ability to review data to identify potential market issues
  • Demonstrated experience working on market regulation
  • Solid experience in the development of pricing policies
  • Exceptional ability to build rapport and strong ongoing relationships with stakeholders
  • Proven experience in high level analysis of data using mathematical models and statistical techniques
  • Excellent Oral and written communication skills with the ability to develop briefing materials and reports for senior executives and board members
  • Have a positive contemporary attitude to people with disability and an understanding of its impact on individuals
