Geospatial Analyst

Job Role
  • Work with end users to identify GIS requirements, technical issues and training needs; analyse current business processes and recommend best practice solutions.
  • Conduct technical troubleshooting for geospatial related matters arising in the EDW domain and provide technical insight and recommendations regarding spatial data and spatial metadata standards.
  • Assist in day-to-day operations of GIS functions in the department, determining geospatial architecture priorities, developing guidance, providing geospatial assistance on project related activities and undertaking troubleshooting analysis and resolution for incidents and where new GIS capability is required.
  • Provide support and technical advice regarding geospatial analysis techniques, GIS analysis tools available, and the use of location data with geospatial toolsets available in the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). 
Essential Criteria
  • Experience with geospatial systems, GIS Tools and spatial software, such as Esri ArcGIS Enterprise (including ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Server) and GeoServer.
  • Spatial ETL experience using FME (or equivalent technology), ArcGIS ModelBuilder and languages such as, but not limited to, Python and Javascript for data management or process development purposes.
  • Technical expertise in GIS, geospatial analysis, mapping application design and development, and experience with a wide range of geospatial datasets.
  • Proficiency in Esri’s ArcGIS Desktop / ArcGIS Pro.
  • Excellent geocoding skills and experience with various geocoding tools.
  • Sound knowledge of data editing processes in order to build and maintain corporate GIS datasets.
