Joinery Estimating & Technical Officer

About the role
The purpose of this role is to support the Sales Manager with opportunities, tenders and bids to ensure the sales manager can continue searching for new sales opportunities, developing leads and promoting the Company capabilities. This role is pivotal as it is the conduit between sales and production.
 
Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Reviewing projects in detail and determining the scope required for pricing
  • Conducting plan take offs and determining quantities
  • Identifying materials
  • Researching materials, fittings, and fixtures
  • Value engineering and the ability to suggest alternative finishes/fittings
  • Build relationships with suppliers and contractors
  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers and contractors
  • Programming and early procurement
  • Scheduling & ordering
  • Determine best way to construct joinery -this will have an impact on pricing
  • Preparing tender estimates and quotations/proposals ready to issue to clients
  • Carryout site inspections and check measures as requited
  • Assist the Sales Manager in sales related tasks from time to time
  • Shop drawings reviews and approvals
  • Assist production supervisor from time to time
  • Prepare shop drawings from time to time
  • Project reporting to senior management
  • Attend internal sales meetings
  • Risk management
Skills Required:
  • Sound experience and technical knowledge working with all aspects of joinery
  • Sound experience in estimating and buildability
  • Passionate about pricing and getting the project over the line
  • Proficient in word and excel
  • Experience using Cad and or Cabinet Vision (but not essential)
  • Efficient and can work in a high pace environment
  • Great communicator
  • Can do attitude
  • Loves the detail “leaving no stone unturned “
