Logistics Specialist

Our client is a global leader in threat detection and screening technologies for aviation, ports and borders, urban security and defence. They deliver solutions needed to protect society from the threat and illegal passage of explosives, prohibited weapons, contraband, toxic chemicals and narcotics.
 
Domestically, they operate equipment in approximately 550 locations across Australia & New Zealand and have over 300 customers. This includes approximately 130 movements a month domestically, of mostly Original Equipment and parts. In addition, approximately 3-4 Original Equipment arrive by sea freight or air freight in Australia every week We locally move
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Overall responsible for Import/Export customs clearance process and documentation archiving policy as per country rules and regulations.
  • Act as the first escalation point for all Logistics issues encountered by the business.
  • Report to the management team about root cause of the issue and action plan required to address such issue.
  • Liaising with Suppliers & Forwarders to ensure their billing is timely and accurate.
  • Participate and lead the various projects or initiatives aimed at facilitating account payables and improving our cash position.
  • Support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organisational planning.
  • Create and maintain accurate written procedures for all Logistics processes.
  • Accurate data to be maintained on Company SAP ERP environment and Service Management System.
  • Control goods entering & leaving the warehouse utilizing manual handling guidelines
  • Support cycle count and inventory auditing process
  • Coordinate with 3rd parties for packaging and stock delivery to customer sites
  • Coordinate return of defective parts from the customer site
  • Track service and spare parts shipments via UPS, FedEx or courier service and notify customers of tracking information and estimated time of arrival
  • Work with Global Supply Chain to ensure the spare parts stock levels within the ERP are at or above minimum stock levels and order parts once stock levels fall below re-ordering point
  • Track all backorders and ensure that they are filled in a timely fashion. If a part is on backorder for a significant amount of time, take the necessary remedial actions to ensure the Regional Supply Chain is operational
Ideally you will have
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field advantageous
  • 5+ years in a similar role
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to multi-task and manage time
  • Previous stakeholder management skills
  • Intimate and highly detailed knowledge of the Australian & New Zealand geography, including domestic freight lanes
  • High level of initiative & desire to succeed.
  • Self-starter and highly motivated.
  • Act with minimum supervision.
  • High level of customer/stakeholder focus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Ability to travel
