Network Engineer

My client, a well-respected and trusted Australian organisation is looking for an experienced Telephony/Network Engineer who will be responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining the voice and data communication services, to ensure maximum efficiency across the business .

Responsibilities to include but not limited to;

  • Designing, planning, implementing and maintaining corporate voice and data communication network services, Amazon Contact centre and Associated SIP infrastructure.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation, reports, and records regarding infrastructure solutions.
  • Providing technical support, troubleshooting and fault rectification of high-level technical issues related to voice and networking equipment and services.
  • Analysing tenders, supervising acceptance tests and commissioning communications systems and equipment.
  • Acting as an interface between the organisation and suppliers/carriers/vendors regarding high level technical issues and carrier billing.
  • Providing guidelines for training in the use and maintenance of voice and networking equipment, systems and facilities.
  • Monitoring the performance of the organisation’s communications carriers/network providers in relation to established service level agreements (SLA's) and business needs.
  • Testing, implementing, monitoring and tuning voice and networking software/hardware to ensure optimum systems performance and highlighting potential issues.
  • Managing the analysis of voice and network traffic data and providing recommendations on performance improvements to network
  • infrastructures as appropriate.
 

Experience required;

  • Experienced in the configuration and maintenance of VOIP and networking/communications infrastructure, including the ability to support a variety of technologies.
  • Excellent knowledge on IP Telephony technologies including but not limited to Cisco conference manager, AWS Connect.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of emerging technologies in the communications sphere, such as data centre, cloud, WAN, VOIP and wireless.
  • Strong skills in Router Hardware/Software, Switch Hardware/Software, SNA/MVS, Frame Relay, ATM, Protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, eBGP ), Routing Protocols,  VOIP, SIP & Cloud based voice services.
  • Strong project management skills and an ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Strong understanding of SD-WAN principles and implementation.
  • Advanced knowledge of networking systems and software covering both Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills coupled with a customer service orientation.
  • Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Experience with Cisco, Meraki, Sophos and/or other similar networks.
