Parliamentary Liaison Officer

About the Employer

In this role you will be responsible for liaising directly with Federal and State parliamentarians on behalf of this Government Department. This Department is looking for a professional and proactive personality to facilitate open lines of communication between the Department and Local Members.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Cultivating valuable professional relationships within your Department and with the offices of relevant Local Members
  • Actively understanding and synthesising the issues effecting the delivery of services
  • Facilitating a timely and relevant flow of information between parties
  • Planning and coordinating public events on behalf of key stakeholders
  • Working with parliamentarians and preparing Government briefs
  • Face to face and written communication skills, to ensure that all parties are well informed about the relevant issues affecting your department
About You!
  • The right person for this dynamic role in the public sector will display a genuine interest current affairs, for example the issues currently facing remote communities in the Northern Territory.
  • In this role you will require the ability to prioritise and organise on-the-go, as the work of others will be contingent the effectiveness of your work.
