Payments Analyst

Our client is relatively new and rapidly expanding government organisation that has multiple opportunities for APS4 Payments Analysts to join their team. Based in Geelong, you would be joining the team on a labour hire contract until February 2020, with view to extend. 

As a Payments Analyst, you will be responsible for responding to and actioning complex claims-related enquiries, with the aim of providing prompt resolution to payment and claims issues. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate success working in a legislative/regulatory environment and strong analytical skills, as well as professional experience and/or relevant qualifications in accounting & finance. 

In addition to this, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar position, preferably within the government sector
  • Proactive and inquisitive, with the ability to well in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Strong background in accounting/finance and/or relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Confident applying and interpreting legislation, as well as other relevant policies/procedures
  • Previous claims or compliance experience desirable
Your Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Undertake routine accounts processing and assess payment claims 
  • Contact customers and other stakeholders for relevant information relating to funding and claims management
  • Investigate and manage moderately complex payment enquiries
  • Undertaking reports and reconciliations across multiple IT systems, eg SAP (PSCD).
  • Provide advice and support on established technical, operational, professional and/or administrative activities, procedures, practices and program/project objectives.
  • Understanding and applying legislation, policies, strategies and program/project plans.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency of the Payments business processes.
