Payroll Officer

About the Client

We have an opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a local government organisation. This role reports to the Payroll Team Leader and sits within the Accounting & Finance team. As a vital part of a supportive team, you will be responsible for ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time in the Auburn Office


Duties & Responsibilities

  • End-to-end payroll processing, including review and interpretation of paperwork to ensure data integrity, accurate data entry and verification, right through to completion of the payroll
  • Understanding and commitment to WHS & EEO principles
  • Interpret & apply awards, employment legislation, statutory requirements for taxation, super, payroll admin.
  • Previous payroll experience is required, you will be using a pay system Trim, knowledge an advantage
  • Support to the Payroll Team Leader and other accounts/payroll team members
To be successful 
  • Significant experience in end-to-end Payroll, preferably in a medium-sized or large organisation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Accounting Qualification required or similar
  • High degree of accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, including working well under pressure
  • MUST pass a Police Check, prior to starting
