Portfolio Manager

Our client is seeking a Portfolio Manager with expertise in strategic portfolio planning and prioritisation. The role will be to support the executive to design the Portfolio Integration function and build organisational and staff capability, within a fast-paced environment.

The Portfolio Integration function plays an important role to support prioritisation of investment and decision making aligned to the organisational strategic objectives. Ensuring that identified transformational shifts will be delivered as a result of the collective portfolio investment.

This role is not a project governance role but will work closely with the Project Management Office.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide high-level advice on, and technical expertise in, contemporary complex portfolio management
  • Deliver results with a large degree of independence within the policies, priorities, objectives and strategy
  • Be accountable for managing allocated resources, setting work area priorities, managing workflows, developing strategies and evaluating business outcomes
  • Be accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements; share own expertise with others; guide and mentor less experienced staff and to work collaboratively to achieve business outcomes
  • Solve problems, particularly with reference to stakeholder negotiations and issue resolution
  • Develop advice, strategies and devise solutions to complex portfolio issues that ensure achievement of outcomes and objectives
To be considered you must possess the following skills and experience:
  • Strong expertise in strategic portfolio management and establishing new functions within complex large organisations
  • A proven track record of delivery
  • Passion to build team and organisational capability and strong leadership skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement & negotiating skills
Baseline clearance is highly regarded.
