Project /Site Manager - managing safety on site

My client is a federal government Agency based in Southern Sydney,  seeking an experienced Project Manager/ Construction Manager to act as site manager for project that is nearing the end of construction / process plant installation and moving into commissioning.
 
The facility itself has been constructed and is being maintained and run by my client as a construction site while the process equipment is installed and commissioned, and some minor building works are being undertaken.
 
 
Duties:

• Site Manager, who will be responsible for managing safety on-site, and ensuring works are undertaken in accordance with the project’s safety management plan and client’s safety systems.
• There will be responsibility for managing some minor construction works as well.

 
Ideal candidate will have:
 

• Essential – Australian Citizenship to be eligible for site security clearance.

• Essential - Interest + Experience in managing safety and compliance.

• Construction site supervisor or site manager with about 10-year experience

or

• Project manager or construction management roles with about 10-year experience
• An engineering or construction management background is desirable; however, an engineering degree is not essential.

 
Tenure of this project is 1 year plus 1 year for the right candidate.
