Project Manager ( Civil Construction- Minor Works)

Ignite recruitment are proudly working with a leading Melbourne civil contractor, we are seeking an individual looking to continue their successful project management career. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading several projects throughout the city of Melbourne. 
This position may suit a project manager with up to 2 years’ experience within the civil infrastructure sector who is looking to move into a position that will allow them to draw on their significant experience and subsequently lead projects to successful completion.

The succesful candidate will be Accountable for delivery of works in accordance with the contract requirements under direction from Program Manager. Manage internal work crew and external sub-contractors to deliver works adequately

Key Responsibilities: 

Primary Responsibilities:
  • $3 Mil budget per annum per Project manager
  • Undertake planning for project works.
  • Manage the project budget, program, quality and resourcing o Obtain all stakeholder approvals
  • Prepare cost estimates for project works including sourcing quotes and resource planning
  • Liaise with designers and draft work plans for review and approval
  • Deliver project works associated with works program
  • Attend pre-starts, toolboxes and deliver safety communication o Undertake site inspections pre and post works
  • Manage subcontractors & review subcontractor quality and performance o Provide project status updates to relevant manager
  • Update required systems in accordance with contractual obligations
  • Ensure expenditure is raised in accordance with Citywide requirements
  • Prepare month program forecast
  • Report weekly on project progress
  • Provide detailed advice to the public, clients, contractors and external authorities

  • Exercise a high degree of judgement and discretion in completing tasks and liaising with customers and clients
  • Consult with relevant parties where the public are affected
  • Foster a “one company” approach with individuals recognising and taking responsibility for their part
