Our client is a relatively new and rapidly expanding organisation assisting people with disabilities to access mainstream and community services as well as maintaining informal support via family and friends. About the role

The Project Officer is accountable under limited direction for delivering results in accordance with the requirements of their work area and team plans. They must exercise discretion with respect to how procedures and guidelines are interpreted and applied.

Responsibilities include:
 
  • Provision of advice and support on established technical, operational, professional and administrative activities, procedures, practices and project objectives
  • Consult and share information within the team and identify/utilise team strengths to achieve program, project and business outcomes
  • Monitor and review program and project objectives against plans
  • Identify analyse and implement alternative courses of action
  • Understand the strategic objectives of the program and project activities
 
 To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills and personal attributes:

  • Demonstrated experience as a project or program officer in a  commonwealth government environment
  • Ability to building strong, cohesive relationships with fellow team members & celebrate each other’s achievements and individual strengths
  • Strong ability to analyse and interpret legislation, policies and strategies in relation to project plans
  • Ability to ensure key program specifications are implemented, to achieve desired operational outcomes
  • Sound judgement and decision making abilities
  • Solid administration skills accompanied by intermediate to advanced MS Office skills and report writing experience
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills 
  • Proven ability to respond to and prioritise competing and often urgent requests in a calm and efficient manner
  • Have a positive contemporary attitude to people with disability and an understanding of its impact on individuals
