Quality, Safety and Environment Manager

Our client is an Australian success story and designs and develops products for customers in the Automotive Industry all around the World.

A rare and exciting opportunity has now become available to join their Operations team based here in North West Sydney

You will be responsible for:
  • Work collaboratively with the team to develop, implement and sustain a behavioural system that encompasses Quality, Safety and the Environment
  • Implement best practices for quality assurance processes; develop and utilize benchmark-based metrics, and develop & maintain reporting on these measures to ensure continuous improvement and provide needed information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare, maintain, enforce, and update the QSE plans to drive performance using ISO 9001:2015, ISO14001:2015, AS/NZS 4801:2001 and appropriate legislation
  • Develop, maintain, and analyse program(s) metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements
  • Empower workforce with stop work authority for quality, safety or environmental breaches.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and provide guidance on related disciplines.
  • Seek, share and assist in implementing best practices.
  • Develop and implement program-specific process improvement initiatives.
  • Establishes and tracks progress toward meeting the goals and objectives of process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure operational personnel comply with established and applicable policies and procedures.
  • Ensure non-conformances are closed in a prompt manner and appropriate corrective actions are implemented
  • Conduct audits, inspections to ensure compliance with policies and procedures and implements corrective actions as required.
  • Participate in the identification and implementation of continuous process improvement activities.
  • Leads root cause analysis (product, safety and environmental) and assigns corrective actions
  • Ensures all risk assessments (product, safety and environmental) are completed and maintained as live documents
  • Identify and organise training for staff in quality, safety and environmental related topics
Ideally you will have
  • Have relevant Degree qualifications in Engineering and ideally qualifications as a Lead Auditor in quality
  • Extensive knowledge of logistic systems, planning, quality control and supervisory policies, principles, procedures and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of analytical methodology, statistical process control and continual process improvement.
  • Familiarity with the development and operation of management reporting systems.
  • Ability to develop and present senior staff-level briefings and management reports.
  • Demonstrated experience with process improvement approaches and change management.
  • Excellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of OEM Car company requirements
  • Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment.
  • Working knowledge on ISO9001, ISO14001 and safety systems.
