Records and Information Management Project Officer

Our Client located in the inner west of Melbourne is seeking 2 experienced Information Management Project officers to join their team for the delivery of the transition of paper-based to electronic records.

This project will include business analysis, appraisal, assessment transfer and preparation of destruction notifications for corporate information in accordance with the relevant Public Record Office Victoria (PROV) Retention and Disposal Authorities.

You must be a strong team player, solution focused and flexible in your approach. Strong time management skills and exceptional attention to detail are a must along with advanced problem-solving skills.

You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to establish relationships with a variety of stakeholders as well as competent oral and written communications and provide clear advice and instruction.

To be considered for this position you must have:
  • Demonstrated experience in records management and a well-developed understanding of records management requirements including application of relevant legislation, standards and guidelines such as the Public Records Act 1973 (Vic), archive and disposal and quality assurance actions relevant to the digitisation, destruction and/or transfer of records.
  • Demonstrated ability in the management of archives and records in both paper-based and digital environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail, accuracy and maintaining confidentiality including the provision of practical recordkeeping advice to business units.
  • Advanced problem-solving ability including the ability to proactively identify issues and provide thoughtful solutions.
  • Ability to listen to customer and stakeholder needs and use initiative to improve services and commitment to delivering high quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a team environment with the ability to prioritise workloads and work under limited supervision.
  • Working knowledge of electronic document & records management systems (preferably HP CM9/TRIM).
  • Knowledge & understanding of records management principles and practices.
  • Working knowledge of classifying documents and utilising the business classification schemes for file numbering purposes.
